Oneplus Nord N10

Oneplus Nord N10

When I first got my hands on the OnePlus Nord N10, I was immediately struck by how much value it offered for its price point. As someone who’s tested dozens of mid-range smartphones, I’ve often found that affordability comes with compromises—whether it’s a lackluster camera, sluggish performance, or a plasticky build. But the OnePlus Nord N10 seemed different. It promised a 90Hz display, a quad-camera setup, and a Snapdragon 690 chipset, all wrapped in a design that felt premium. Over the past few weeks, I’ve put it through its paces, and here’s what I’ve learned about this device.

Design and Build: More Than Meets the Eye

The OnePlus Nord N10 doesn’t scream flagship, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. The matte finish on the back is a nice touch, reducing fingerprints and giving it a solid grip. However, it’s worth noting that the phone is on the heavier side, tipping the scales at 190g. For me, this wasn’t a dealbreaker, but if you prefer lighter devices, it might take some getting used to.

💡 Note: The Nord N10’s weight is partly due to its large 4,300mAh battery, which is a trade-off I’m willing to make for longer screen-on time.

Display: Smooth Scrolling on a Budget

One of the standout features of the OnePlus Nord N10 is its 6.49-inch 90Hz LCD display. Coming from a 60Hz phone, the difference is noticeable—scrolling through apps and websites feels buttery smooth. While it’s not an AMOLED panel, the colors are vibrant enough for everyday use, and the brightness is adequate for outdoor visibility. That said, if you’re someone who watches a lot of HDR content, you might miss the deeper blacks of an AMOLED screen.

Performance: Snappy but Not Flagship-Level

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 690, the OnePlus Nord N10 handles daily tasks with ease. I’ve been using it for social media, browsing, and occasional gaming, and it hasn’t let me down. Games like Call of Duty: Mobile run smoothly at medium settings, though don’t expect the same level of performance as a Snapdragon 800-series chip. Multitasking is decent, thanks to the 6GB of RAM, but heavy users might find it a bit limiting.

Camera: A Mixed Bag

The quad-camera setup on the OnePlus Nord N10 is ambitious, with a 64MP primary lens, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. In well-lit conditions, the main camera produces sharp and detailed shots. The ultrawide lens is handy for landscapes, though it struggles with edge distortion. The macro and monochrome lenses feel more like gimmicks—I rarely found myself using them.

Low-light performance is where the Nord N10 falters. While Night Mode helps, images often come out grainy or underexposed. For casual shooters, it’s adequate, but don’t expect flagship-level results.

Battery Life: A Day and a Half, Easily

With its 4,300mAh battery, the OnePlus Nord N10 easily lasts a full day of moderate to heavy use. On days when I’m less active, it’s stretched to a day and a half. The 30W fast charging is a welcome addition, topping up the battery from 0 to 60% in about 30 minutes. However, there’s no wireless charging, which might be a downside for some.

Software: Clean and Bloat-Free

OnePlus’ OxygenOS is one of the cleanest Android skins out there, and the Nord N10 benefits from it. It’s based on Android 10 (with an update to Android 11 available), and the experience is smooth and intuitive. There’s no bloatware, just a few useful OnePlus apps. The only downside is that software updates might not be as frequent as on flagship OnePlus devices.

Where the OnePlus Nord N10 Falls Short

While the Nord N10 is a solid mid-range phone, it’s not without its flaws. The lack of an IP rating means it’s not officially water-resistant, which is a bummer. The camera, while versatile, struggles in low light, and the heavy build might not appeal to everyone. Additionally, the Snapdragon 690, while capable, isn’t future-proof for power users.

The OnePlus Nord N10 is a well-rounded mid-range phone that delivers on its promises. It’s not perfect, but for its price, it offers a smooth display, decent performance, and a clean software experience. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly device that doesn’t skimp on features, the Nord N10 is worth considering. Just keep in mind its limitations—it’s not a flagship killer, but it doesn’t try to be. For everyday use, it’s a reliable companion that won’t break the bank.
